What's New on the SFDG Web Site
July 23, 2002
- Obviously, I haven't been updating this page. Each month, I change
the main, meetings, and specific-books pages to refer to our
next two books, and the voting
statistics page with the votes for the book that we most
recently discussed. I also create a page for the book most recently
discussed (on July 23 2002, that was Mars Crossing by
Geoffrey A. Landis).
October 4, 2000:
- Obviously, I haven't been updating this page as much as I've
been updating the site. There needs to be some automated
system to track updates ;-).
- Ignoring the changes between March 3, 1999 and October 3,
2000 inclusive ;-) my most recent changes have been updates of
the main, meetings, and specific-books to refer to
Maureen F. McHugh's China Mountain Zhang as this
month's book.
- The other recent change was to plug in updated voting statistics on
all books we've voted on thus far. That's every book we've
discussed since December 1997 except Mike Resnick's
Kirinyaga (I don't remember why I didn't collect
votes on this one, though I will say a number of people found
the book offensive ;-) and David G. Hartwell's Year's
Best SF 4 (since it didn't seem cricket to give a
single numeric vote on an anthology of diverse stories by
diverse writers).
March 2, 1999:
- Updated pages to refer to our next book, Fire Upon the
Deep
- Uploaded a page with Statistics on all book votes
thus far.
- Created a web page for Forever
Peace.
January 16, 1999:
- Created an initial web page for Hyperion.
November 22, 1998:
October 23, 1998:
- I created a web page for Fairyland based
on last night's discussion! Clearly, taking notes via computer
saved a lot of time.
- Updated the main, meetings, and specific-books to reference
The Gate to Women's Country instead of
Fairyland.
October 9, 1998:
- I finally used my remaining notes to update the page on Brain Wave so
that it (hopefully) makes some sense now. Apologies for the
delay! I welcome any corrections or additions; my scribblings
are no longer fully legible.
- I finally updated the main, meetings, and specific-books pages to reflect
the fact that our next book will be Fairylandand
not The Sirens of Titan.
- I also made a few other minor updates to the main page and
the news page to reflect the fact that
the IU Press reprint of Riddley Walker is now
available.
