X-Flies?

The November 30th, 1997 episode of the X-Files, "The Post-Modern Prometheus," included some research at IU's biology department. Here's a note from SFDG member (and former president) Doug Rusch:

Just to let everyone know, next week the X-files is supposed to be about a mad scientist, fruit flies, and the homeotics genes. Chris Carter came here to my lab to interview my boss and take notes for the show. Yes, even I got to meet Chris Carter. That's all I know at this time. I hope it's a good show.

USA Today gave the episode 4 stars (out of 4). It was a very funny, straight-faced episode that parodied Frankenstein and other classic horror movies (including a scene with angry townspeople carrying torches) and the X-Files itself. It's worth checking out if you get a chance.
